Privacy policy
HTTP 2 Phone for Android · Effective 21 October 2026
In short: we don't collect any data. HTTP 2 Phone has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting, and it never connects to our servers or anyone else's. Your contacts and messages only travel between your phone and the web browsers you approve on your own network.
Who we are
HTTP 2 Phone (package tv.learndelphi.Http2Phone) is made by LearnDelphi.tv ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy, email alister@LearnDelphi.tv.
What the app does
HTTP 2 Phone runs a small web server on your Android phone. When you open its address in a browser on the same network, you can use that browser to have the phone send text messages, place phone calls, and send messages to your contacts. Everything is done by the app on your phone, at your request.
Data we collect
None. We don't receive, collect, store or have access to any information about you, your phone, your contacts or your messages. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and does not use an advertising ID. We don't sell or share any data, because we don't have any.
What the app uses on your phone, and why
To do its job, the app asks Android for these permissions. Each is used only on your phone, only for the purpose given, and only when you ask for that feature.
| Permission | What it's used for |
|---|---|
| Send SMS | Sending the text messages you ask for from a browser, and getting the network's sent and delivery reports for them. |
| Phone calls | Placing a call to a number you enter in a browser. |
| Contacts | Showing your contacts' names, numbers, companies, job titles and labels in your browser when you open the Text your contacts page, so you can choose who to message. The app asks for this the first time you open that page. |
| Phone state | Listing the SIM cards in the phone, so that on a dual-SIM phone you can choose which one sends. |
| Internet | Running the web server that browsers on your network connect to. The app does not connect to the internet itself. |
| Prevent sleep | Keeping the server running while the app is open. |
The app doesn't read your text messages or call history, and it doesn't use your location, camera or files.
Where your information goes
- To the browsers you approve. Message text, phone numbers, delivery status, your SIM names and, on the contacts page, your contacts are sent from the phone to a browser on your network when that browser asks for them. With Approve new devices on (the default), a device must first be approved on the phone. Requests from the phone itself are always allowed.
- To your mobile carrier. Texts and calls go through your carrier like any other text or call you make, and are handled under your carrier's own terms and privacy policy.
- Nowhere else. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party.
What is stored, and where
| Where | What |
|---|---|
| On the phone, in the app's private storage | Your settings: whether new devices must be approved, the network addresses of the devices you chose to Allow always, whether the settings panel is shown, and which SIM sends texts. |
| On the phone, in memory only | The activity log and the last 500 messages sent (number, message, status and times), so browsers can show their delivery status. These are lost when the app closes. You can clear the log sooner with Clear in the app, and finished messages with Clear history on the Sent messages page. |
| In your computer's browser | The bulk and contacts pages remember your work in the browser's local storage on that computer: the list you loaded or pasted, your message draft and test number, and which rows or contacts are ticked and have been sent a message (by contact id and number). This never leaves that browser. Contacts themselves aren't stored there. |
The app doesn't make its own copy of your contacts.
Security
The connection between a browser and the phone uses plain HTTP on your local network and is not encrypted, so anyone able to watch traffic on that network could see what is sent. Use the app on networks you trust, such as your home or office Wi-Fi, and not on public Wi-Fi. Keep Approve new devices on, and use Forget allowed devices on the phone to remove devices you no longer use.
Deleting your information
- Close the app to remove the activity log and message history from memory, or use Clear and Clear history to remove them sooner.
- Use Forget allowed devices to remove the remembered devices, or uninstall the app to remove all of its settings.
- On the computer, use Forget this file and Clear sent marks, or clear the site data for the phone's address in your browser.
Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete or give you a copy of.
Children
HTTP 2 Phone is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
